Application Procedure
- Before officially applying for admission, prospective students should familiarise themselves with the programmes and fields of research offered by the different departments
- Please complete the Engineering Faculty Application Form and forward it, together with the documents requested, to the relevant department or email/fax it to Tanya Ficker on +27 (0)21 808 4206 (please mark it clearly: Attention Tanya Ficker).
- All applications will be sent to the relevant departments. If the prospective student complies with all the admission requirements, the postgraduate co-ordinator of the department concerned will put the prospective student in contact with a possible supervisor. Proposed research topics and the availability of support funds will be discussed and negotiated.
- When accepted by a department, students not currently enrolled at Stellenbosch University, will be required to also complete the formal Application Form of the University.
- Students must submit complete applications by the relevant closing dates.
- Applicants will be duly informed of the success or otherwise of their applications by an official letter and/or e-mail.
- International Students
International students follow the same application procedures as South African students. The academic qualifications of all international students will be evaluated by our International Office to determine the level at which they should enter the Faculty's postgraduate programme.

International applicants will be duly informed of the success or otherwise of their application by an official letter and/or e-mail, which can be used for study visa applications.
