Application Procedure
1. Before officially applying for admission, prospective students must first thoroughly familiarise themselves with the programmes and fields of research offered by the different departments.
2. Thereafter, kindly complete the Faculty's electronic application form and follow the instructions carefully. It may significantly delay the admission procedure if any steps are skipped.
3. Kindly note that students need to strictly adhere to the application closing dates.
4. Upon receipt thereof, electronic applications will be checked for completeness, and then forwarded to the relevant department.
5. If a prospective student complies with all the admission requirements, the postgraduate co-ordinator of the relevant department will place the prospective student in contact with a possible supervisor. Proposed research topics and the availability of support funds will then be discussed.
6. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by means of an official letter or e-mail.
7. International Students
International students follow the same application procedures as South African students. The academic qualifications of all international students will be evaluated by our International Office to determine the level at which they should enter the Faculty's postgraduate programme.
We have an exceptional International Office which helps international students with general matters concerning their coming to South Africa. Please visit their website.
International applicants will be duly informed of the success or otherwise of their application by an official letter and/or e-mail, which can be used for study visa applications.
