The Faculty of Engineering is one of Stellenbosch University’s flagship faculties and is one of South Africa's major producers of top quality engineers. The world-class engineers we produce contribute to the economic development of the country and improves citizens’ quality of life.
In addition, our outstanding research and consulting services add value to industry, and substantially supplement our funding streams.
There are approximately 4 000 engineering students, of whom approximately 3 000 are undergraduate and 1 000 postgraduate.
The Faculty was established in 1944 and is housed in a large complex of buildings with modern facilities.

Open Day - Saturday, 29 February 2020
Are you interested in how engineers go about applying science and technology in order to improve the world at large, or are you perhaps planning to pursue a career in engineering?
If so, do visit the Faculty of Engineering during Stellenbosch University's Open Day from 08:30 to 16:00 on Saturday, 29 February 2020.
Numerous interesting and exciting engineering exhibits and demonstrations (presented by staff and students) will take place at the five engineering departments.
The first departmental tour will depart at 08:30 and the last departmental tour will depart at 14:15 from the white marquee tent (corner of Banghoek road and Joubert street, Stellenbosch).
